If you are in Bangkok and want to make the most of your time, take our advice and book a stay at IBIS Bangkok Riverside. It is perfect for a 3-4 night stay in Bangkok. It is located right by the Chao Pharaya river, which basically goes to almost all the places of interest in Bangkok. Ibis makes for a prefect stay in Bangkok because of its location. Being on the Chao pharaya river, it is super convenient to take the local ferries and not waste your money on cabs or your precious time in Bangkok’s traffic jams, which are plenty. From Ibis river side, you can take a ferry to the Grand palace, Asiatique and also Was Arun or alternatively, you could spend evenings taking dips in the pool and watching ferries go by (which is exactly what we did).
If you have been travelling in Thailand for some time and are missing Indian food, then Bangkok has plenty many places where you can have Indian food. Sarvana bhawan is also very nearby and you could stuff yourself with their delicious dosas( Also something that we did).
Okay first things first, how insane is the view at IBIS riverside.
We have stayed at Ibis hotels before and this stay was the best yet. Maybe it was the view or it was the hospitality of the people in Thailand, but we really enjoyed the stay here.
Days at IBIS start with a morning dip in the pool, followed by an amazing breakfast buffet (where we usually spend about an hour). We absolutely love the breakfast spread at IBIS hotels, mainly because it is a mix of the standard English breakfast with the breads and the jams, croissants and bagels and the local cuisine.
After a hearty breakfast, you could go out to explore Bangkok on one of the ferries. You could also go to the malls for shopping. Whatever you decide to do during the day, spending evenings by the pool and looking at ferries go by is the most calming thing ever. Well, if you don’t go for a spa later on! Which you totally should! 😀
Oh and if you are looking for great spots for parties, there are a lot of ferries that have night parties and they can drop you back at the hotel, which is great! Yeah but choose the party boats wisely because take it from us, some boats will play B grade Bollywood songs and you will see sweaty people dancing to these songs.
Sunset ferry rides are the best and the best place to see sunsets in Bangkok is Wat Arun and you could take a ferry and get off at the opposite side of wat Arun to catch the sunset.
There are also a number of bars and restaurants to enjoy the night view of wat Arun but our favourite is Eat sight story Deck and the views from here are absolutely stunning. We highly recommend you spend an evening here.
