About Jaipur:

The best time to visit Jaipur is during the cooler months from October to march. You could also visit during the shoulder months of September and April. #1:AMER FORT:
Amer fort or also known as amber fort is one of the biggest forts in Rajasthan. It was constructed under the rule of Raja Man singh. It is located in Amer, which is around 11 kms from Jaipur. The use of marble and red sandstone represents a beautiful blend of both Hindu & Muslim architecture. It has a lot of photo ops and is situated on top of a hill.

#2: CIty palace:
Located right next to the famous Bapu bazaar, is the City palace and it is one of our favourite places in Jaipur. The royal family still resides in a part pf City palace and it has all the royal feels. the best things to do here are admiring the architecture and visiting the museum. The palace comprises of Mubarak mahal and Chandra Mahal houses the museum. You could also witness a puppet show while in city palace.

#3: Hawa mahal:

Right next tp the city palace is Hawa mahal or the palace of wind or breeze. It is one of the most aesthetically pleasing monuments in Jaipur. And the symmetry and the architecture is to die for. It is one of the tallest buildings that doesn’t stand on a foundation. It has 953 windows or Jharokhas that were used by the royal ladies to watch the daily life on the streets.

The best place to photograph Hawa mahal is from one of the rooftop cafes right opposite to the Hawa mahal. The one we went to is called wind view cafe.
#4: jantar Mantar:
In close proximity to the city palace and hawa mahal lies Jantar mantar. Jantar Mantar is one the world’s largest observatories. And the sun dial here os the largest sun dial in the world. It was also constructed during Maharaja Jai singh II reign. he had an interest in astronomy and the geometric shapes here were used to measure time and observe constellations.

#5: Bapu Bazaar:
Bapu bazaar is one of the biggest markets in jaipur. it is famous for its traditional tie and dye textiles and also for the famous for its quilts known as Jaipuri Rajai. You can also buy a traditional rajasthani jutti from this market. Although your haggling skills will have to be top notch if you want to shop here.

#6: Albert Hall Museum:
Named after the prince of Wales Albert edward, it was completed in 1887. It is one of India’s oldest museums and houses artifacts from all over India. It has now become the hub for concerts, rallies and festivals. It is now also becoming a popular spot amongst photographers fro pre wedding shoots. Hundreds of peigons add to the beauty of the photos.

#7: Patrika Gate:
One of the most recent additions to the monuments and photo spots of Jaipur is Patrika gate. It has the most colorful and intricate drawings that represent the beautiful Rajasthani culture. The gate itself is an entrance to Jawahar circle garden where a lot of people come for their morning walks or picnics. To ensure that there are no people in your photos, it’s best to come early or in the late afternoon. we went early morning and had the place to ourselves.

#8: Nahargarh Fort:

One of the best places in Jaipur to watch sunrises or sunsets from. Although There are a lot of monkeys during these times, so be careful. It offers great views as the sun sets and rises over the city of Jaipur. It is a little far off from the city centre though. But you can club this with Amer fort for a day trip.

#9: Galtaji Temple:
Galti ji temple is one of the most interesting temple we have seen so far. It is around 20 kms from Jaipur. It is frequented by people for religious reasons as well as by photographers to admire the architecture. The temple is surrounded by hills and you could climb one of these hills to catch an amazing sunset as well.

#10: Jaigarh fort:

Jaigarh is perched on top of cheel ka teela hills In jaipur. it was also constructed under the rule of Sawai Jai singh II to protect Amer fort. It is known as Jaigarh or the fort of victory, as it has never been conquered. It also houses the world’s largest canon on wheels. The views from Jaigarh fort are beautiful, especially during sunset. It is spread over a distance of 3 kms and is a symbol of military prowess of the Rajputs.

#11: panna meena ka kund:
Located about 14 kms outside the Jaipur city, it a step well that was historically used to store water. Step wells originated in the Indian subcontinent and were the most common way of storing water to be used during the dry summer months. Water can be reached by descending into the pool using a set of stairs. They are now one of the main attractions in Jaipur now.

#12: Samode Palace:
It is located at about 40 kms from Jaipur. Samode palace is a heritage hotel cum palace. It gives a true Mughal royal experience when you stay here. The famous sheesh mahal or the hall of mirrors is also located here.

Perched atop a hill near Nahargarh and Jaigarh fort, The Garh Ganesh temple is another amazing place to watch the sunset. It is a temple dedicated to lord Ganesha and was built in the 18th century. It is a little bit of trek, nothing very difficult though.

#15: Birla Temple:
Birla temple or Laxmi Narayan temple was built in 1988 by the Birlas when the maharaja of Jaipur gave away that land for a token amount of 1 rupee. The temple is built out of pure white marble and is a delight to look at. the walls are engraved with sayings from the puranas.
