I can’t believe that we have been home for more than 4 months now. I certainly did not expect to be sitting here at my desk back in my home town. But these are unprecedented times. And as much as we would love to travel and explore again, I am not sure when we will be able to.
About a month back I wrote a post on how you can travel virtually. You can check out that post right here. Today I am sharing how you can re-live your travel experiences and make the best of the situation that we have at hand.
1.Start a Travel Journal:
This has been my little escape throughout these last 4 months and I can’t believe that I didn’t do this sooner. I have so far, been loving travel journalling. And if you are someone who likes writing things down and being artisty, then this one’s definitely for you.
You can write about your past travels and what were your best experiences. Oryou can plan out some new ones for when we can travel again. I also love doing a photo collage from my past travels and have been loving adding photos to my journal. I got mine printed from Zoomin and I honestly love them. I opted for a 5×5 print, because I thought I’d be able to use them in multiple ways that I will go over.
- The bullet journal that I use: Menorah Bullet Journal
- Pen that I use: Sakura Micron Pens

2. Make a travel bucket list board:
This is one of my fav thing to do. I am a plan-o-holic (if that’s a thing). I love planning our future travels because it keeps me sane lol. I also love making a travel bucket list and love ticking things off. And making one is really fun too. You can search for images on Pinterest, download them and get them printed from Zoomin.
And make a fun day out of making a bucket list board. Have fun with sticking various pictures and quotes on the board. Nitin and I often do this at the beginning of the year to select places that we want to travel to in that year. And it has now become sort of a tradition in our house, pretty much like the new year resolutions that people do.
3. Frames at my Work desk:
I love having picture frames at my work desk. I often work from home and don’t see a lot of people through out the day (perks for working for yourself lol). But at times when I feel demotivated or low, looking at our travel pictures is what gets ,e through the day.
And I think that’s why it is so special to get travel photos or any photos printed and put them in frames. And before you even get started about looking at photos on your phone, Don’t. I guess I am old fashioned that way. I like having physical copies of my fav photos.
Photos often get lost in our phones and mainly because we click so many. And that’s why having these few printed photos makes them even more special.
4. Use as Room Decor:
I love a good photo wall. I have always loved a photo wall. But for the life of me, I do not have the patience to get all the frames right. So I am always trying things that are a little temporary, because I like switching things up. I love experimenting with my room decor. And decorating with polaroid seemed like such a great idea.

So we made this photo wall in our room using fairy lights as a string and adding our travel photos to it. Add a few plants and you’re done. So simple and quick. And it is now one of my fav walls in our room.

And we are so happy we decided to get the prints from Zoomin because they are such good quality print outs. They are nothing like your normal photos that you get printed and do not collect dust too.
5. USe as props in flatlays:
This is one of my new favourite things to do. I have been experimenting with flat lays during this “Stay at home” phase. And flat lays is a new found love. And there is something about polaroid photos that adds a charm to the picture.
I love experimenting and trying new layouts with things like my morning skin care, or self love and showing it all in a flat lay. And these printed photos give the flat lays a much needed oomph.

6. USe as photo subject:
If you are into photography, I bet you are always looking for creative photo ideas. And using these printed photos as a photo subject serves the purpose really well. printed photos have kind of a vintage vibe and I love taking photos of photos (YAAS inception). You know what I mean, right?

And if you want any more ideas, Pinterest is always a great source to look for inspiration. 🙂
