Good Bye Pune

Good Bye Pune

If you have been reading our blog, you probably already know that we absolutely love Pune. For those of you who don’t know, here is why. Nitin was working here when we started dating and he’d often go to places in and around Pune and tell me how pretty everything is and how he’d love to take me to all these places. And eventually we did go to all these places together and some of these places became our favorite places. I still recommend these places to all the friends who ask me “places where they should go if they are in Pune” or how should they spend 24 hours in Pune.

After a few years in Pune, Nitin shifted to Delhi but I got this new job and the training location was in Pune, I was excited because if it had to anywhere but Delhi then Pune was my first preference. These last 3 months have made me fall in love with the city all over again. I can’t really put it into words as to what exactly is it that I like about the city, but it is a mix of the culture, the people, the cafes and the Amazing weather.

Going on weekend trips to places around Pune during the monsoon season, sipping tea at Chai Cafe in Viman nagar, destroying cheese omelette at Vohuman Cafe, roaming in the streets and exploring cafes in Koregaon park, sitting by my bedroom window sipping tea when it is raining outside, getting drenched in rains while hiking at singhad fort, feeling relaxed by looking at the beautiful sunsets after a long day at work, seeing the whole city decorated for ganpati festival, eating more misal Pavs than I could imagine, taking a walking tour to explore the city, breakfasts at German Bakery and shopping at the local markets. I am going to miss it all as I will be moving back to Delhi in a day or two. I will miss this weather, the auto rickshaw rides that I have fallen in love with(I can’t imagine taking autos in Cold Delhi winters and hot summers).

But going to Delhi also means that I am going home, where my husbandman is, where my irritating brother is, where a lot of my very close friends are, where I get to control what is going on in the house or what we will eat for Dinner, where someone will wake me up every morning with kisses and hugs. It means being close to my parents and being able to see them every weekend or so and it also means that those late night drives to India Gate with my favorite people are back in my life! πŸ˜€

As much as I love the feeling of going back home, I will miss Pune and oh! Also the movie ticket prices! I guess this is goodbye. Goodbye, pune! It has been my pleasure! We’ll visit soon! πŸ™‚

Much love

P.S: We are still working on the schedule for this blog, but this post just couldn’t wait. I wanted to take out time and appreciate this beautiful city that I had been living in from the last 3 months.
