Are you struggling to make a morning routine that works for you? We have complied a list of 7 most important morning habits that will change your life.
These morning habits will help you level up your life. Start by including these morning habits in your routine. We highly recommend you take these habits one by one in your routine.
There are some tasks that have been proven to be super effective for morning routines. The most talked about Morning routine is Miracle Morning, which lists a set of six different tasks to do each morning for a productive morning and a healthy mindset.
Everyone’s morning routines are different but here are some things you can include in your morning routine that have been proven to make your mornings and the day more productive. These morning habits are proven to change your life if you make them a part of your routine.
#1: Workout:
Moving your body and getting your sweat on first thing in the morning is such a good habit to have. All successful and rich people have this one in common. It is also advised to workout in the morning instead of evenings. Because working out in the evenings affects your sleep quality as well.
And getting your sweat on first thing in the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. You start your day off being productive and taking care of your health and it reflects onto the rest of your day.
#2:Do not hit snooze:
This is one golden rule that you should start applying today. Do not hit the snooze button. It is your biggest enemy. I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but it’s true. Hitting snooze when your alarm goes off makes you lethargic.
When you hit snooze and fall back asleep, you go into a sleep cycle, but then again wake up when alarm goes off after 5 mins. In those 5 minutes you aren’t in deep sleep and that sleep cycle gets broken in between. And that makes you lethargic throughout the day.
The best trick is to keep the alarm a little far from you, so that you HAVE to get up to turn it off. And once you are up already, make it a point to not succumb to the laziness. Or get yourself one of those alarm clocks that only goes off when you have solved 5 mathematics puzzles.
#3: Journal/read:
This is such an important one and I can not stress this enough. I read the 5 A.M. Club by robin sharma and it explained why you need a victory hour in the morning. and what all you should be doing in those 60 minutes in the morning. It involves 20 mins workout, 20 mins read something and 20 minutes of meditating/planning your day ahead.
We all know that all successful people read a lot but so often we get so busy with our lives that we rarely get the time to read. And I find it great to read something in the morning, with a cup of tea or coffee. It is so relaxing and I kind of love that “me time” in the mornings. It allows me to not feel rushed even on hectic mornings and is my favourite thing to do in the mornings.
#4:Get fresh air:
Getting fresh air in the morning is again something that will help you start the day on the right note. This first thing I like doing in the morning is open up my windows or get out in my balcony and breathe in fresh air. You could also go out for a run in the park.
It is also a great idea if you do some breathing exercises in the fresh morning air. It clears up my mind, helps me organise my thoughts while I make a to-do list in my head and am ready to start the day.
#5: Detox water :
Drinking lukewarm Detox water in the morning has been such a game changer for me. Detox waters are great because they kick start your metabolism, supports your liver and is a great way to pack in nutrients and anti oxidants in your body.
Detox water is also great if you are trying to lose weight. Because the detox water that is rich in nutrients along with hydrating in the morning helps you de-bloat.

#6: No phone first thing in the morning:
We are all guilty of this one. You set an alarm in your phone, you pick it up to turn the alarm off and when you get up, you spend a good half an hour or so scrolling through social media.
But not using your phone first thing in the morning will completely change your life. When you spend your mornings looking to content from people on social media or when you spend your mornings going through your emails:
- You start comparing your life with someone else’s curated feed on Social media. And that’s such a sad note to start your day on.
- You are so busy consuming all the content and the news on your phones that you barely have the time to plan your day and think about your goals and your priorities.
- You spend way too much time on your phone and then you rush to office, you skip breakfast and you are late to meetings.
- You look through your emails and you feel stressed, first thing in the morning.
You see how so many of your life’s areas can be improved by this simple change in your mornings. A simple habit that could make all these changes is simply getting a new alarm clock and not using your phone to set the alarm. And keep your phone a little far off and not on your bedside table. This will help you not be tempted to check it first thing in the morning.
#7: Plan your day:
I can not stress this enough. And if you struggle with getting your tasks done for the day, I highly recommend that you plan your day ahead. It won’t take much time. All you need is to spend 5-10 minutes in the morning to organise your thoughts amd make a to-do list for the day.
But making a to-do list is not enough. You also need to prioritise your tasks for the day. That way even if you don’t end up tackling every thing, you still get the most important things done.
That’s it. These are all the morning habits that can completely change your life.
And even if they sound silly, these small good habits roll into big ones. When you start planning your day, you start being more productive and getting more done. You are more successful and thus more content with your life and so on. Every little thing adds up.
Which of these do you do already and which one’s do you need to start now?
