Good skin is something that we all want. But if you struggle with your skin and find getting good clear skin difficult, then these are the habits you need to adopt.
I have struggled a lot with my skin over the past few years until I started adopting these habits and saw a change in my skin. These are all pretty simple habits but if done right ad consistently, you will definitely see the results.
So let’s get into it. And like always, if you are pressed for time, Pin it to read later! 🙂

Eat healthy nutritious food
Anything that has to do with your body, skin or hair begins at what kind of food you are eating and what nutrition you are providing. So if you struggle with your skin and you break out very often, it is time to check your diet.
Are you eating a lot of carbs? Or are you eating a lot of fried food? Both of these can cause you to break out. Fried food also inhibits the circulation of blood throughout your system and it’s affects shows on your skin as well.
So make sure you are having a properly balanced nutritious diet. And focus on whole foods as much as possible. Try including more fruits and raw veggies in your diet and replace cheese and other fats with whole fat sources like nuts, seeds and nut butters (unsweetened ones).
Workout
Getting a good workout in regularly is one of the best ways to clear up your skin. So if you think you don’t need to workout because you don’t have to lose weight, then do it for your skin and your health in general.
Getting sweat out forces out toxins from your body and your skin and is thus a great way to clear up your skin. It also helps improve your blood circulation and hence your skin.
But there are some things that you should keep in mind while sweating it out:
- MAKE UP: Make sure you are not wearing as little makeup as possible. I usually prefer zero makeup. Because when you are sweating, you want your pores to be able to breathe so that the toxins can get out. And the make up is just going to make it difficult.
- NO WIPING YOUR FACE: If you sweat a lot during your workouts like I do, you need to make sure you don’t wipe your face with a towel. Instead, in between different exercises or sets, dab your face with a clean towel. That’s why I always bring two towels with me to the gym, one for face and one for the rest.
- DON’T SLATHER ON PRODUCTS: When you are done with your workout, wash your face with water but don’t rush to slather on any products. Give your skin some time to breathe as well.
Sleep enough
We all know that getting a good night’s sleep is good for the productivity and helps us be more energetic throughout the day. But there is more to it. Getting a good sleep helps your skin as well.
Your body as well as your skin needs time to rest and heal and ensuring a good 8 hour sleep will do the trick. And if you are someone who has trouble sleeping or struggles with their sleep quality or anxiety, checkout this post where we talk about ways to improve your sleep quality.
Drink enough water
I can not stress this enough but I am going to try anyway. Hydration is the key. Our bodies are upto 60% water and keeping your body hydrated is one of the best habits to adopt. And while we all know the benefits of drinking water, some of us struggle to drink enough.
And when you are dehydrated, the results show on your skin looking dull and you feeling more lethargic. So make sure to keep a water bottle with you at all times. It will trigger you to drink more water.
I love this one from amazon because it has time of the day marked and it keeps reminding me to hydrate myself throughout the day. If you need a little more motivation, there is also a good one with motivational quotes.
Skin care
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. We are talking about good skin and skin care is an absolute must. But what might come as a surprise is how little products you actually need.
I know we have all seen those elaborate night time skin care routines on youtube and have thought “who has that much time everyday?” And I GET YOU, GIRL!
That’s why I am telling you, you do not need to have a night time routine that consists of 20 products. But you do need a routine, that’s true. And it could a pretty simple one that includes cleansing your face and then applying a hydrating cream. Oh also, NEVER FORGET YOUR SUN SCREEN.
Now, while talking about skin acre I would also like to mention that expensive does not equal good. And you do not need to buy luxury products. Just make sure they are toxins free. Be mindful of what you are using on your skin. I always recommend using products that you know are parabens free.
I absolutely sweat by this Kashmiri saffron cleanser by Forest essentials. It is so super gentle on your skin and it is one product that helped me out immensely.
I also highly recommend these hydrating creams by forest essentials. And I absolutely swear by it. And I guarantee that once you try forest essential products, you won’t buy any other product. ( I would never recommend a product that I don’t personally use and love)
Do not spend a lot of time on your screens
Screen time is the biggest evil that there is. And not just for your eyes and mental health, but for your skin as well. The blue light radiations that your laptop. Ipads and phone screens emit are not good for your skin. Now, I know that it is difficult to cut down on screen time, especially these days. But try limiting it as much as possible.
I have seen that setting limits for myself and making rules usually works. We have a no phones on our bedroom after 8 PM rule, which has helped us so much. Try making one of these rules for yourself as well.
And that’s it for this post ladies. I know that keeping a clear skin is difficult, but with these simple habits, it should be a little easy for you, I hope.
