Do you ever wonder how some people lose weight really fast? Well, it is all in good habits. These healthy habits can help you lose weight really fast. So if you want to lose a few pounds to get healthy this year, read on.
Weight loss is one of the topics that’s very personal to a lot of people. And it’s because weight is a very personal topic and quite emotional for some people too. Especially if you are someone who has struggled with being overweight throughout your life.
I have been there too. I have been overweight most of my teenage years and my twenties. I tried every weight loss diet there is. And every healthy meal plan. But I realised I was doing it all wrong. Because I was never really consistent. So I used to lose weight and gain it back after some time.
This was until I realised that I needed to change the way I approach weight loss. It was then that I realised that it was all in the habits. And these seemingly small habits have made all the difference for me. So if you are looking to lose weight too, these habits will help, I am sure. But as it goes with habits, they will take time. So if you are looking for losing weight in 30 days, this post may not be for you.
However, if you want to make lifelong changes and be a healthier version of yourself, these weight loss habits will help.

6 Habits of people who lose weight fast:
#1: being aware of what you are eating:

When it comes to weight loss or being healthy in general, education is the key. Educating yourself about nutrition is the way to go and it is super important. And people who lose weight fast, make sure they know about nutrition and they educate themselves.
They know what foods they should be eating and how much. They know exactly what their body needs and how their body processes different kind of foods. And it’s not that much about calories and counting calories is so mentally draining anyway. So, it’s better to be more aware of what
When I was diagnosed with PCOS, I made it a point to educate myself about how different carbohydrates are processed in our bodies. And I learned a lot about low GI and high GI foods. This helped me immensely because it allowed me to make better choices when it came to food. And I was able to reverse my PCOS in 3 months without any medications.
#2: Eating slowly and mindfully:

This is one of those habits that you think won’t make a difference but it actually does. When you eat slowly, you are more mindful of the food you are eating. And usually it takes some time for your body to signal to your brain that you’re full. And eating slowly allows you time to get that signal and know when you’re full rather than eating the entire plate.
Same goes with snacks too. Eating a full bag of chips like there is a war coming and you’d need to hibernate is not the best way to eat. Rather eat slowly and be mindful of the food you are eating and how much.
It will also serve you well to eat without any distractions. So avoid watching TV while you eat. because when we eat while watching something, we tend to miss the signals that your body is sending to our brain. And that leads to over-eating. You’d actually enjoy your food more when you are not constantly distracted.
#3: Exercise:

Yes. I said it. This list wouldn’t have been complete without it. You need to move your body and you need to stay active.
These days our lifestyle involves sitting at our desks throughout the day. And by the end of the day we’re usually too tired to workout. And too tired to cook too. So we order in food and eat it in front of our tv on the couch.
But if you are not eating the right food and are not working out as well, you are doing double the harm. They say abs are made in the kitchen, meaning the most important part about weight loss is the food you eat. But it doesn’t mean that you can or should neglect the importance of working out.
When you workout everyday, it gets the blood flowing and improves your metabolism. That means you burn more calories while sitting at your desk all day too. And who doesn’t want that?
And not the mention the effect working out has on your mood. Getting your sweat on and moving your body releases endorphins that lift your mood. And these endorphins make you feel happy.
And it doesn’t always have to be a very intense workout too. try a mix of cardio, strength training (can’t stress on this enough) , yoga, hiking etc. Do not be a cardio bunny who goes to the gym only to use the treadmill. strength training is important too. in fact it helps you build muscle and lose weight even faster.
#4: Mindful of snacks:

So you eat healthy throughout the day during the big meals, but are you paying attention to the snacks you eat?
Do you know how many grams of sugar are there in your seemingly healthy post workout protein bars?
Don’t let the labels fool you. And be mindful of the snacks you are consuming. And by snacks I also mean the drinks you have throughout the day. Watch your sugar intake with the sweetened sodas and energy drinks. the often cause a blood sugar level spike that makes you feel good, but then that level drops and you start feeling lethargic pretty quickly.
And when you feel that slump, you again reach for sugary snacks for that boost of energy. It is a cycle that you do not want to be in. TRUST ME.
And with your snacks, it is important that you are not consuming empty calories. Snacks like potato chips etc are just carbs and fats that are not good for you. Instead, choose healthy snacks that are full of good fats like whole nuts and seeds. They are a great source of minerals, vitamins and fibre as well.
#5:Staying hydrated:

Staying hydrated is under-rated. And it is something that a lot of people are guilty of. But people who lsoe weight fast have this habit in common. they always stay hydrated. They start their day with a tall glass of water and drink a lot of water throughout the day as well.
And when I say hydrated, I do not mean sodas and processed canned juices or coffee. I main plain simple water.
Our bodies are about 70% water, so it only makes sense that we stay hydrated for proper functioning. Staying hydrated also helps you flush out toxins from your system and you do not need to drink any detoxifying drinks.
But that’s not all.
Staying hydrated throughout the day will also keep your hunger pangs in control. So often, when we feel hungry, it is just our body telling us it needs water. And we mis-interpret that signal and stuff ourselves with food. Try drinking a glass of water the next time you feel like snacking at an odd hour. And there is a high chance that the hunger will go away. So staying hydrated is the key.
#6: Getting enough sleep:

Getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep is vital for proper functioning of our bodies. And studies have shown that people who get enough sleep tend to have better metabolisms. So sleeping properly and sleeping enough aids in weight loss and keeping it off.

These are 6 habits that people who lose weight quickly have in common. These habits will help you lose weight quickly and to keep it off. Of course like any habits they will take time to stick. And my suggestions here is start small. Maybe start with one of the habits and work your way from there.
