When it comes to detox waters, it is such a controversial topic. But let me put is simply for you.
Hydrating your body is so important for it to function properly. And if you are trying to lose weight, it becomes even more important.
So here are 5 super easy to make and highly effective detox water recipes to try if you are trying to lose weight.
#1: The famous Lemon water:

There is a reason lemon water is called as “fat cutter” and that’s because it works. Drinking luke warm lemon water with honey first thing in the morning is great for fat loss. It is especially great when you are starting on your weight loss journey and are beginning to eat more healthy.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Lemon
- Water
- 1 tbsp Honey
- Pinch of Himalayan Pink salt
How to make:
Pretty simple and straight forward. Mix juice of half a lemon with a glass of luke warm water, honey and salt. Mix everything well and consume it first thing in the morning. Make sure to take your time with it and not gulp it down.
BENEFITS:
It helps kick start your metabolism in the morning. Lemon is a great source of vitamin C which boost immunity and honey is packed with nutrients that help you lose fat. Salt provides electrolytes, which are much needed, especially in summers.
#2: Turmeric, Ginger and Cinnamon Water:

Ingredients:
- 1/2 inch ginger
- 1 tbsp freshly ground turmeric
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1 glass of water
How to make:
When the water comes to a boil, add ginger and ground turmeric. Heat this on a low flame for about 2 minutes. Then add the cinnamon powder and heat for 30 seconds. Strain the water in a mug and drink slowly.

Cinnamon is known to help in weight loss. It also adds a nice sweet flavour to the water. Ginger and turmeric are known for their anti-inflammatory properties and they help reduce the bloat-iness in your body and face, when you drink this regularly. Ginger and turmeric also helps soothes your muscles and regulating your blood sugar levels and blood pressure.
#3: Fenugreek and Carom Seeds Water

Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp fenugreek seeds
- 1 Tbsp Carom seeds
- Water
How to make:
Soak fenugreek seeds and carom seeds in a bowl of water overnight. In the morning boil this water along with seeds for about 5 minutes on a low flame. Add more cold water as needed and drink slowly.
It will take some getting used to, because fenugreek seeds have quite a bitter taste, but nothing you can’t get used to. I also add a little honey and a lemon slice, but that’s completely optional.

Carom seeds are rick in fibre, minerals and nutrients and along with a lot of other benefits like glowing skin, regulating your periods, it also helps you lose weight. Because both carom and fenugreek seeds help you boost your metabolism.
#4: Apple cider Vinegar water:

Ingredients:
- Apple cider Vinegar
How to make:
This is the simplest one to make. Add about 1 Tbsp of ACV to a glass of water at room temperature. Mix well and drink slowly. Make sure you dilute the apples cider vinegar with water and never consume it directly.
BENEFITS:
It helps with weight loss because it increase the satiety, reduces blood sugar levels and insulin levels. Studies have shown that Apple cider vinegar helps reduce belly fat more easily.
#5: Strawberry Basil water:

I saved my favourite one for last. Strawberry basil water is such a delicious and refreshing detox water to have in summers.
Ingredients:
- 5-10 fresh, whole strawberries
- Freshly squeezed juice from 1/2 lemon
- A Handful of fresh basil leaves
How to make:
Crush strawberries to release all the juices and nutrients. Mix this well with the water and lemon juice. Add in a handful of freshly chopped basil leaves. Refrigerate it for about 2-3 hours and then drink it throughout the day.
BENEFITS:
Basil has anti inflammatory properties and helps reduce bloating. Strawberries on the other hand are packed with anti oxidants and nutrients such as potassium and vitamin C which helps boost immunity and works as a great cleanser for your body.
