Goa is a place that is a favourite among Indians and foreigners alike. And people who come to Goa often fall in love. They know well that Goa is an emotion. Goa is a perfect place to relax, explore waterfalls and enjoy cocktails on the beach. But these days it’s becoming famous as a place that’s perfect for content creation. And rightly so. It is picturesque, there are no two pinions about that.
We have been to Goa more than 8 times in the last 2 years. And have explored both north, central and south Goa. And we still keep going back every year. So if you want to see all the instagrammable places in Goa, read on. Here are the best 20 places in Goa:
#1: Fountainhas: Old latin quarters of Goa
Fountainhas is a colorful neighbourhood situated in the heart of Goa, i.e. Panaji. The colorful houses and buildings in the neighbourhood make a perfect backdrop for amazing Instagram photos. And there is so much to explore here. From hole in the wall bars to the most authentic Portuguese cafes, it’s a must visit.

You get to a see a glimpse of the Portuguese architecture and the lanes of Fountainhas have a charm of their own. While you can easily get lost in the lanes of Fountainhas and spend an entire day here (which we totally recommend that you do by the way), if you are short on time, spare at least 2-3 hours.
#2: Our lady of immaculate conception
In close proximity to the colorful portuguese house is our lady of immaculate conception. It is a hot favourite among pre wedding photographers and make for some stunning photos usually during the mornings and sunsets.
We went early in the morning and there was barely anyone there and the stairs are a perfect place to sit, take photos and relax.
Bonus tip: If you go there early morning, we highly recommend you try food at Vitthal, which is right in front of the famous stairs. And if you do, get yourself a Dosa, it was one of the best dosas we have had in western India.
#3: The beach huts of Palolem:
The colorful beach huts are a perfect place to stay in Palolem because they are right on the beach. But they also make for a great backdrop for amazing photos. Some of our absolute favourite photos from Goa are from Palolem beach.
It is also one of our favourite beahces in Goa, along with Agonda.
#4: Parra Road or the famous dear zindagi road:
Parra road has been made famous after it was featured in a the bollywood movie Dear zindagi. But there are so many roads in Goa that look exactly the same. But there can’t be a guide on Instagrammable places in Goa that doesn’t include this famous spot.
Be careful while taking your photos though. Make sure to look on both sides before taking your photos. To reach there, just search for parra chapel or dear zindagi road on google maps and it should be fairly easy to find.
#5: Purple martini at sunset point, Anjuna
Again one of those places that shot to fame through social media, but it is beautiful nonetheless. It is a cafe in Anjuna called the purple martini. And while the food is average, they do serve some really good sangria and the views make up for everything else.
If you do end up going, we highly recommend that you go during the sunset because the sunset views are amazing from there and it is one of our top favourite places to watch the sunset.

Anotyher gem from south goa. Cola beach is one of the most midden beaches in goa. The road to reach there is a dirt road that gets quite muddy during the monsoons and once at the parking lot you have to climb down the stairs. But the views and the vibes make up for it. It also has a backwater lagoon to swim in. There aren’t a lot of restaurants but that adds to the charm of the place.
#9: Saint Catejan church:
It is without a doubt one of the most beautifully maintained churches of Goa. It is located very close to the old goa church but isn’t as famous, which makes it kind of an off beat place to visit in Goa. Make sure to add this place to your list while visiting the most beautiful places in Goa.
#10: Aguada fort:
Aguada fort offers stunning views of the sea, especially during the sunrise and sunset. Aguada fort is a seventeenth century Portuguese fort along with a lighthouse, located on Sinquerium beach. It gets very crowded during the day time though. I’d also avoid going during the day because it gets quite hot.
#11: Mangrove boardwalk Panjim:
The mangrove boardwalk in Panaji was created a recreational space and is one of the hidden gems in Goa. It was built with a focus to educate people about mangroves and is an amazing place to walk around in the afternoons and relax. Make sure to check this spot out the next time you are in Panaji.

It is one of the lesser known places in Goa and an absolute gem. the heart shaped lagoon is situated in chicolna and can be reached via a dirt road. The Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to the Virgin Mary in Old Goa. The sunset views from there are unlike any other in Goa. Although it is quite secluded and situated on top of a hill, the views of the sun setting over mandovi river justify you going out there specifically for this one point. The interiors are quite lavish as well.

I can not write an Instagrammable places in Goa post and not include dudhsagar waterfalls in it. As the water falls down it looks like foamy milk, giving the waterfall its name. The four-tiered waterfall has a total height of 1017 ft., and is one of the most powerful waterfalls in India. It can be reached on a jeep tour organised by a tour company.

This 16th century fort is a perfect place to spend an afternoon as it offers stunning views of the river and the sea. It is not as famous as Aguada fort of Chapora fort, but it is definitely worth a visit. The property is beautifully maintained as well.

Located in south Goa close to the Lalit Goa, it is another off beat place to visit in Goa.
